Tie Rods

At Pat & Chuck's Auto Repair we know driving enthusiasts in Des Plaines demand more of their high-performance cars and trucks. When you turn a corner on Des Plaines streets your front wheels pivot on steering knuckles connected to the steering rack. Your wheels are connected by the tie rod to the drag link bar to provide safety and handling in a turn. High-performance tie bars boast micro-adjustment options to make height and length adjustments between the tie rod and the wheel. The tie rod end that connects to the steering knuckle is susceptible to wear and failure with aggressive driving. Failure can throw off the car's alignment in a tight curve when the chassis of a car is under the most stress. High performance tie bar ends offer precision manufactured ball bearings to reduce wear and critical failures.

Wheelie Bars

These simple anti-roll devices look like casters connected to the rear bumper by long bars of flexible Chromoly tubing. Let Pat & Chuck's Auto Repair be a part of your race team and install wheelie bars when you are ready to race. Wheelie bars take over in a skid and progressively unload the energy of the tire to keep a car right side up. Ready to add this important safety option to your car? Call Pat & Chuck's Auto Repair at 847-298-4372 and let's talk wheelie bars.

What Our Customers Are Saying

We were in town to vend at a show in the Rosemont Convention Center when our transmission started to have problems. We asked around and ended up at Pat & Chuck's Auto Repair. The guys there are THE BEST! They managed to work on our car on short notice, replace the transmission and even replaced a couple of supports that we weren't aware needed replacing. (They kept the broken parts to show us.) They even checked over the rest of the car to make sure everything was in good running order and that we'd be able to make it home pulling our trailer without any further problems. We fully expected to pay a "Big City" price for the work that they did -- and we were pleasantly surprised when the bill was significantly less than we'd anticipated. There were no surprises, no add-ons and the final expense was just what they'd told us it would be. We'd go back there in a heartbeat and it's a shame that they're so far away from where we live! Chuck and Rod were friendly!

I am always pleased with the work that I have had done at Pat & Chuck's, especially the most recent repair. I had been using another shop for convenience reasons, and had been told I needed my transmission rebuilt or replaced. Pat & Chuck"s could have just went ahead and did just that, but didn't; they diagnosed the correct issue, and fixed it, saving me approximately 1700 dollars.
